Dermal, Lip & Cheek Fillers in Worthing: Your Questions Answered by a GP-Led Clinic

October 26, 20253 min read

At Blue Bird Aesthetics in Worthing, we know that deciding on treatments like dermal, lip, or cheek fillers can feel overwhelming. There’s a lot of information online — some of it confusing, some of it misleading. As a GP-led clinic, my focus is on safe, natural results and making sure you feel fully informed before making any decisions.

Here, I’ve answered the most common questions patients ask me in consultation...

❓ What are dermal fillers and how do they work?

Dermal fillers are soft gels made from hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally found in the skin. They restore lost volume, smooth lines, or enhance features like lips and cheeks. When placed carefully, fillers can refresh your appearance without changing who you are — the goal is to look like you on a good day.

❓ How long do lip and cheek fillers last?

  • Lip fillers usually last 6–12 months.

  • Cheek fillers can last 12–18 months, as the product is placed deeper and moves less.
Longevity depends on your metabolism, lifestyle, and the type of filler used.

  • As they slowly break down over time they actually help boost the skins health

❓ Are fillers safe?

When performed by a qualified medical professional, fillers are considered safe. As a practising GP Aesthetician, I carry out a full consultation, medical history, and risk assessment before any treatment. Safety is always the priority — and I only use CE-marked, high-quality products.

❓ Will I look “fake” or “overdone”?

This is one of the biggest worries patients share. My approach is subtle: enhancing your natural features, not changing them. Patients often tell me they get compliments like “you look well” rather than “have you had something done?”

"I want people to comment how amazing you look, not ask the name of your Aesthetician ! "

❓ What’s the recovery and aftercare like?

Most people return to normal activities the same day. You may notice mild swelling or bruising for a few days, especially with lip fillers. I’ll give you tailored aftercare advice, and I’m always available for follow-up if you have questions.

❓ Can fillers be dissolved if I change my mind?

Yes. Hyaluronic acid fillers can be safely dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. This is one of the reasons I only use dissolvable fillers — it gives peace of mind that adjustments can be made if needed. I have helped some who have gone to other clinics and have unsatisfactory results. As a medical professional I have the knowledge, experience and specialist equipment that enables me to dissolve filler. Most clinics DO NOT offer this as they are not able to perform this.

❓ How much do fillers cost in Worthing?

Prices vary depending on the area treated and the amount of product required. At Blue Bird Aesthetics, I’ll always provide a clear treatment plan and cost breakdown during your consultation, so there are no surprises. Our prices are on our website or via the booking system on Glowday.

❓ Why choose a GP-led clinic for fillers?

In an unregulated industry, choosing a doctor-led clinic means:

  • A full medical consultation before treatment.

  • Emergency medicines and protocols in place.

  • A focus on safe, natural results rather than trends.

  • Continuity of care — you’ll always see the same practitioner.

Final Thoughts

Fillers can be a fantastic option for restoring confidence and enhancing your natural features — but they should always be approached with care. At Blue Bird Aesthetics in Worthing, I believe in safe, subtle, doctor-led treatments that put your wellbeing first.

If you’re curious about dermal, lip, or cheek fillers, the best next step is to book a consultation. That’s where we can talk through your goals, answer your questions, and decide together if fillers are right for you.
