Looking for safe, subtle, and skillfully delivered Microneedling and/or Nanoneedling to stimulate your skin's natural renewal pathways? At Blue Bird Aesthetics, all treatments are performed exclusively by Dr Amber Halliday—a practicing GP with advanced training in aesthetic medicine. This ensures every procedure is grounded in clinical expertise, patient safety, and natural-looking results.

Microneedling and Nanoneedling treatments start from £225 for ~60mins

Both treatments pair beautifully with skin boosters (such as Plinest) or targetted mesotherapy solutions (see below for more and our handy guide). Anti-wrinkle injections can also help prepare the skin for further treatments. For ongoing results many patients combine treatments with AlumierMD Skincare at home.

What areas can be treated with microneedling?

Microneedling is most commonly used on the face, but it can also be applied safely and effectively to support collagen renewal on the:

• Neck • Décolletage • Hands

"Most people focus on improving the skin health of their face and neck — but their hands can give the game away!” - Dr Amber Halliday

Treatment areas are always discussed and agreed during your consultation, ensuring a tailored approach that suits your skin goals and lifestyle.

How long do results last?

Many patients notice an improvement in radiance within a few days. Results continue to build gradually as collagen production increases, supporting improvements in:

• Texture • Tone • Fine lines • Overall skin quality

A course of three treatments spaced one month apart is commonly recommended, with results that may last several months. Treatment frequency is always tailored following consultation with Dr Halliday.

Who is microneedling suitable for?

Microneedling is suitable for most skin types and tones. It’s commonly used to support:

• Collagen renewal

• Fine line reduction

• Improved texture and tone

• Post-acne scarring

• General skin rejuvenation

Dr Halliday will assess your skin and medical history during consultation to ensure microneedling is appropriate for you.

What can I expect during your microneedling treatment?

We believe in transparency and comfort. Here’s what your visit typically includes (more info further down page):

Consultation — Dr Halliday assesses your skin, discusses goals, and explains the procedure

Preparation — Skin is cleansed and numbed if needed

Treatment — The pHformula Proton Pen is used to deliver microneedling at tailored depth

Aftercare — You’ll receive guidance on healing, skincare, and when to return

Most appointments take around 45 minutes, and downtime is minimal.

Is Microneedling safe?

Yes — when performed by a qualified doctor using regulated devices. At Blue Bird Aesthetics, all treatments are delivered in line with UK medical standards. Every patient begins with a full consultation to assess suitability, discuss risks, and tailor a treatment plan to your individual needs.

Why choose a doctor-led clinic for microneedling in Worthing?

Microneedling is a powerful treatment — but it’s not one-size-fits-all. At Blue Bird Aesthetics, every procedure is delivered by Dr Amber Halliday, a practicing GP with advanced training in aesthetic medicine. This means:

• Your treatment is grounded in clinical safety

• Your consultation includes a full medical assessment

• Your plan is tailored to your skin, lifestyle, and goals

• You’re protected by UK medical standards/regulation

Choosing a doctor-led clinic ensures your results are not only visible — but safe, subtle, and sustainable.

Before/After expectations

Microneedling doesn’t deliver instant transformation — it supports gradual, natural improvement.

Before:

• Skin may feel dull, uneven, or textured

• You may notice fine lines or early signs of ageing

After:

• Skin often appears brighter within days

• Texture improves over time

• Collagen production continues for weeks

• Results build with each session

Photos are available during consultation to help you understand what to expect

What’s the difference between microneedling pens?

Not all devices are the same. At Blue Bird Aesthetics, we use the pHformula Proton Pen, which allows precise adjustment of needle depth based on clinical need. This ensures:

• A tailored approach for your skin

• Consistent, controlled penetration

• A safe and effective treatment experience

Are there any conditions this treatment isn’t suitable for?

Microneedling is a medical procedure, so there are certain situations where it isn’t the safest option. At Blue Bird Aesthetics, your wellbeing always comes first, and Dr Amber Halliday will assess your skin and medical history carefully before recommending treatment.

Microneedling is not suitable if you have:

Active acne or cold sores

Inflamed or compromised skin, including sunburn

Used oral Isotretinoin within the last 6 months

We also cannot treat you if you are:

Pregnant or breastfeeding

Living with scleroderma, certain autoimmune conditions, or skin cancer

In these situations, microneedling may not be the safest choice — but there are often alternative treatments that can support your skin goals more appropriately. If any of the above applies to you, just let us know during your consultation and we’ll guide you towards the safest, most effective option.

Nanoneedling:

A Gentle Alternative for Needle‑Sensitive Skin

from £225

Infographic titled ‘Microneedling vs. Nanoneedling: What’s the Difference?’ comparing two skin treatments. Left column describes microneedling: uses fine needles to create micro-channels, reduces wrinkles, scars, and pigmentation, boosts collagen, requires numbing, costs £225. Right column describes nanoneedling: uses silicone pins to press ingredients into the skin, ideal for sensitive or needle-averse patients, no numbing needed, glow-boosting, also £225. Bottom row shows treatment time (60 mins), discomfort level (low with numbing), and results timeline (visible within days, develops over weeks). Includes Blue Bird Aesthetics logo.”

For those who prefer a needle‑free option, nanoneedling offers a beautifully gentle way to enhance skin health and radiance. Instead of traditional needles, this treatment uses cone‑shaped silicone pins that create micro‑channels on the surface of the skin, helping to “press” active ingredients in — think pestle (nanoneedle) and mortar (skin).

Nanoneedling is a fantastic standalone treatment or can be combined with skin resurfacing for enhanced results. Any of the mesotherapy solutions can be used, but at Blue Bird Aesthetics in Worthing, the mainstay is the pHformula TDS Firming treatment for visible firming, hydration and lift.

  • No numbing required

  • Comfortable, glow‑boosting treatment

  • Ideal for sensitive or needle‑averse patients

What to Expect From Your Microneedling Course

Your microneedling plan is always tailored by Dr Amber Halliday, but most patients follow a structured three‑session course to ensure the safest and most effective results.

Session 1 — Skin Response Assessment

Your first treatment is performed directly on the skin using a hyaluronic acid glide. This allows Dr Halliday to assess how your skin responds before progressing to medical‑grade depth at later sessions.

Session 2 — Medical‑Grade Depth (with numbing)

Before your second session, a 30‑minute numbing period is applied for comfort. Treatment is then carried out at a clinically appropriate depth, based on how your skin responded at session one. A hyaluronic acid glide is used unless you choose an add‑on product.

Session 3 — Medical‑Grade Depth (with numbing)

Your third session follows the same structure as session two:

30 minutes of numbing

Medical‑grade depth tailored to your skin

Hyaluronic acid glide or your chosen add‑on product

This session helps consolidate collagen stimulation and supports longer‑lasting results.

Maintenance Microneedling

Maintenance sessions are available only for patients who have completed the full course. These include:

30 minutes of numbing

Hyaluronic acid glide or product of your choice

Maximum once every 3 months to maintain results safely

Optional Add‑Ons to Personalise Your Microneedling Treatment

Your microneedling session includes a hyaluronic acid glide as standard, but you can choose to upgrade your treatment with targeted mesotherapy solutions. These add‑ons are applied during your session to enhance results and tailor the treatment to your specific skin concerns. Not sure which is best for you?
