The Medical Assessment — Why It Is Non-Negotiable
Before any lesion is treated cosmetically it is assessed clinically. Suspicious or changing lesions are not treated — they are referred for dermatological assessment. As a practising NHS GP, Dr Halliday is trained to make this distinction accurately and safely.

Is CryoPen treatment painful?
A brief cold sting during the freeze — most patients find it very tolerable and it is over quickly.
How long until the lesion disappears?
Most lesions resolve fully within 1-4 weeks. Larger or more stubborn lesions may need a second treatment session.
Can all skin lesions be treated with CryoPen?
No — clinical assessment determines suitability. Suspicious, changing or uncertain lesions are not treated cosmetically and are referred appropriately.
Will my skin tag grow back?
The treated lesion generally does not return. New skin tags may form in the same area over time as skin tags are common with age, but the treated lesion itself should not recur.
Do I need a GP referral first?
