← Back to Skin Planning for Life’s Moments

Booking treatments around a holiday means thinking about more than just the treatment itself — sun exposure changes what’s safe and sensible, both before you fly and once you’re back.

What People Usually Notice

Before a holiday, it’s usually dullness, dehydration or the odd breakout getting in the way of feeling ready. After one, it’s often post-flight puffiness and sun-exposed skin that needs settling down before anything active is considered.

What NOT to Do Too Close to Sun Exposure

Some treatments simply aren’t appropriate when you’re about to be in strong sun. We avoid anything that risks irritation, peeling or increased photosensitivity — including deeper resurfacing, strong exfoliants and microneedling too close to your departure date. Your plan will always prioritise safe timing, predictable healing and long-term skin health.

If Your Skin Is Already Dry, Puffy or Sun‑Exposed

If you’re dealing with pre‑holiday dullness, breakouts or post‑flight puffiness, there are still gentle options that help the skin settle without causing further irritation. Bring your current routine and your travel dates to the consultation and we’ll tailor a sun‑safe plan around them — no pressure, no set menu.

Makeup-Friendly Holiday Skin Prep

Holiday makeup behaves differently in heat, humidity and bright light. We focus on treatments that improve hydration, smoothness and tone without creating flaking or sensitivity — helping makeup sit evenly whether you’re going bare-faced, using tinted SPF or wearing evening makeup abroad.

Your Holiday Skin Timeline (quick overview)

2–4 weeks before travel — hydration, LED, gentle resurfacing if appropriate 1 week before travel — calming skincare only, no new active treatments During travel — hydration, antioxidants, consistent SPF 1–2 weeks after travel — barrier repair, LED, gentle resurfacing 3–4 weeks after travel — consider course-based treatments once skin is stable

This keeps the skin comfortable before you fly and supports recovery once you’re back.

Treatment Options We May Discuss

Safety & Suitability

Certain resurfacing and microneedling treatments increase sun sensitivity and shouldn’t be done too close to sun exposure. As a general rule, we’ll plan more active treatments for well before you fly or well after you’re back, with gentler options such as LED considered nearer the time.
