Parking in Worthing can feel confusing — different zones, different tariffs, and several recent closures. This guide gives you the simplest, most accurate parking information for Worthing town centre, whether you’re visiting Blue Bird Aesthetics, heading to the pier, shopping, or seeing a show at the Connaught Theatre.

Prices, walking times and free parking rules are all up‑to‑date for 2026, and we’ve included a quick‑reference box for the best free options. Everything was checked on 2 October 2026, and there’s a new plain-English guide to single yellow lines and loading bays.

Our clinic is at 4 Warwick Lane, off Warwick Street, Worthing BN11 3DP. We’re right in the heart of Worthing town centre, which means great transport links and plenty of parking nearby — whether you’re travelling from Ferring, Findon, or anywhere else across West Sussex. You can find full directions to the clinic on our about page. And if you’d rather see it on a map first, we’ve put together an interactive parking map showing all the options colour-coded by recommendation — green for our top picks, yellow for good alternatives, blue for the cheapest all-day option, and red for the one car park you can no longer use (more on that below).

✨Top Parking Recommendation

Our top recommendation is the High Street multi-storey car park (BN11 1LY) — it’s the closest large car park to our clinic at around a 4–5 minute walk, has 624 spaces, costs just £1.55 for the first hour or £3.30 for two hours Monday to Saturday, and is completely free after 10pm every night. It’s open 24 hours, you pay on arrival using coins, card or the MiPermit app, and if your appointment runs a little longer than planned you can extend your stay from your phone without going back to the car park. For most clients, most of the time, this is the one to head to — sat nav postcode BN11 1LY. If you’re staying on in town after a Tuesday afternoon appointment, there’s also a flat £3.00 rate from 3pm (Monday to Wednesday), which beats the standard tariff for any stay over an hour.

If the High Street MSCP is full, or you’re looking for something with guaranteed availability on a busy Saturday, NCP Union Place (BN11 1LG) is your next port of call — it’s even slightly closer at around 3–4 minutes’ walk, has 178 spaces with ANPR entry and exit, and allows you to pre-book online at ncp.co.uk. (Tariffs: please check ncp.co.uk directly as we were unable to confirm the current price from their website at time of writing.)

£3 Flat Rate After 3pm (Monday to Wednesday)

The High Street MSCP and Buckingham Road MSCP offer a flat £3.00 rate when you park after 3pm on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

It beats the standard tariff for any stay over an hour (standard rates are £3.30 for up to two hours and £4.85 for up to three), so it suits an afternoon appointment followed by shopping or dinner in town. For a visit of an hour or less, the standard £1.55 is cheaper. We’re open on Tuesdays, so a Tuesday appointment from 3pm qualifies.

  • Where: High Street MSCP (BN11 1LY) and Buckingham Road MSCP (BN11 1TH)
  • When: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday only — from 3pm
  • Cost: £3.00 flat
  • Before you pay: check the tariff board or the MiPermit app shows the £3 rate, as offers like this can change at short notice

Important Update: Two Car Parks Have Recently Closed

Before we go further, there are two changes you need to know about — especially if you’ve visited us before and relied on either of these.

The Grafton multi-storey car park (Marine Parade) is permanently closed. It shut in May 2025 following urgent structural inspections and will not reopen. The building is due to be demolished and the site redeveloped. If your usual route took you past the seafront to park there, please don’t — it is closed and will not be reopening. We know this will affect clients who found it convenient, and we’re sorry for the disruption. The good news is there are still well over 1,000 spaces available across the town centre car parks, and our clinic is just as easy to reach.

The High Street surface car park (the small open-air car park adjacent to the multi-storey) also permanently closed to the public in January 2026. The High Street multi-storey — the large 624-space car park — is completely unaffected and remains open as normal.

Please update any saved directions or notes if you’ve parked at either of these before.

The Cheapest Ways to Park

Worthing’s parking prices are genuinely among the most affordable on the Sussex coast — and there are several ways to make them even cheaper.

Monday-to-Wednesday afternoon rate (from 3pm): £3.00 flat at the High Street MSCP and Buckingham Road MSCP. It beats the standard tariff for any stay over an hour, so it suits a Tuesday afternoon appointment followed by time in town. For a visit of an hour or less, the standard £1.55 is cheaper.

Free on-street parking is the best deal in town if you time it right. Pay-and-display bays in the town centre zones (A to C), including the Ann Street bays a minute from the clinic, are free after 6pm Monday to Saturday and all day on Sunday, which makes evenings and Sundays in town easy. Our appointments run during the day, so for a visit to us you’ll usually pay: £2.20 an hour in Ann Street. Check the sign on the bay for its maximum stay.

Cheapest daytime off-street option for a 1–2 hour appointment is the High Street or Buckingham Road multi-storey at £1.55 for the first hour or £3.30 for two hours.

Cheapest all-day parking if you’re having a longer treatment course or combining your visit with other errands in town: the new South Farm Road car park by the station, at £4.50 for up to nine hours (about 12–15 minutes’ walk). Closer in, Teville Gate surface car park is £7.40 all day (8am–6pm, Monday to Sunday) and about a 10-minute walk — clients coming down from Findon via the A24 will find it naturally on their route into town.

Free all day on Sundays: all council-run multi-storey car parks charge just £6.20 for a full Sunday (compared to £13.40 Monday–Saturday), and on-street is completely free. Sunday is by far the easiest and cheapest day to drive into central Worthing.

Free overnight: all council MSCPs are free between 10pm and 6am, every night of the week.

✨Best for Quick Visits

For anything up to an hour — a review appointment, a free consultation, or any of our host of treatments from our menu — the most convenient options are:

  • On-street pay-and-display bays on Ann Street are the closest to Blue Bird Aesthetics — steps from our front door, £2.20 for the hour or free after 6pm. Perfect for in-and-out visits.
  • High Street MSCP — 4–5 minutes’ walk, £1.55 for the first hour. Pay on arrival at the machine or on the MiPermit app, and you can extend your stay from your phone if needed.
  • NCP Union Place — 3–4 minutes’ walk. Good if the on-street bays are taken. Check ncp.co.uk for current tariffs.

✨Best for Longer Appointments

For consultations, treatment courses, or anything where you’ll be with us for an hour or more:

  • High Street MSCP is still the most practical choice — 2 hours costs just £3.30, 3 hours £4.85. The MiPermit app means you never have to worry about rushing back to top up in person.
  • Buckingham Road MSCP — same prices as the High Street MSCP, a couple of minutes further to walk but an excellent alternative if the High Street is particularly busy. It also has the best accessibility provision of any car park in the area (see below).
  • Monday to Wednesday from 3pm: a flat £3.00 at High Street or Buckingham Road MSCP, which is cheaper than the standard rate for any stay over an hour.
  • NCP Union Place — if you’re coming on a busy Saturday, consider pre-booking your space online at ncp.co.uk. It takes the guesswork out of arrival.

Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to get to us comfortably. If you need step‑free access or disabled parking, we’ve highlighted the best options clearly below.

Buckingham Road MSCP is the best option for Blue Badge holders and clients who need step-free access — it has 15 dedicated disabled bays, 2 dementia-friendly spaces, and 7 parent-and-child spaces. The lift operates Monday to Saturday 8am–6pm and Sunday 10am–5pm. Outside those hours, please factor in lift availability.

High Street MSCP has 6 disabled bays and 2 EV charging bays. However, please note that disabled access at the High Street MSCP is currently restricted due to ongoing lift works. Step-free access for wheelchair users cannot be guaranteed while works are ongoing. We recommend Blue Badge holders who need step-free access use Buckingham Road MSCP until further notice. Call the Adur & Worthing Parking Team on 01903 221180 to check the current lift status before your visit.

Civic Quarter MSCP has 17 disabled bays (inside and outside the building) and 34 EV charging points — the best EV option in Worthing town centre. It’s about 9–11 minutes’ walk from us, slightly further than the others, but an excellent choice if you drive an electric or hybrid vehicle.

On-street: Worthing town centre is flat, which makes it genuinely easy to walk from any of the car parks to our clinic. All routes are on level pavement with good street lighting.

Blue Badge holders can park free in designated disabled bays at Teville Gate and Montague Centre (up to 3 hours). At the town centre MSCPs (High Street, Buckingham Road, Civic Quarter), the standard tariff applies to all bays including disabled ones, but your Blue Badge must be displayed. On double or single yellow lines on-street, Blue Badge holders can park for up to 3 hours where there are no kerb loading marks, with the badge and blue parking clock displayed (see yellow lines and loading bays).

EV Charging Near Blue Bird Aesthetics

There are three options for electric and hybrid vehicle drivers:

  • Civic Quarter MSCP (BN11 1HS, ~9–11 min walk): 34 EV charging bays — the largest single EV facility in Worthing town centre. EV charging is priced separately on top of the standard parking tariff.
  • High Street MSCP (BN11 1LY, ~4–5 min walk): 2 EV charging bays. Again, charging cost is separate from parking.
  • On-street EV bays: there are some on-street EV charging points within the town centre CPZ. Check the full map at adur-worthing.gov.uk/parking/electric-charging-points/ for locations.

Whichever EV bay you use, please note that you may only park in these bays provided they are electric/hybrid and actively charging their vehicle.

Coming by Bus or Train

Of course, you don’t have to drive at all.

By bus: the nearest bus stops are The Steyne and South Street, both about 2–3 minutes from our door on Warwick Lane. Key routes serving the area include the 5, 10, 23 (local Worthing routes) and the 700/700A Coastliner (Brighton–Littlehampton along the seafront). Operators include Stagecoach and Compass. For live times, use bustimes.org or the Stagecoach app.

By train: Worthing Station is about a 10–13 minute walk north of the clinic, heading down Chapel Road and into the town centre. There are regular services from Brighton (around 30 minutes), Gatwick Airport (around 60 minutes), and London Victoria (around 90 minutes), run by Southern and Thameslink. From the station, the 5, 10 and 700 bus routes also stop near the clinic if you’d rather not walk.

New — South Farm Road car park (near Worthing Station): A brand new 24-hour car park opened in July 2026 on South Farm Road, right beside Worthing Station on the north side of the level crossing (site of the former West Sussex Van Centre). Pay on entry at the machine or online via ParkPayStay using the location code on site. Tariffs: 1 hour £1.20 | 2 hours £2.40 | 3 hours £3.50 | 9 hours £4.50 | 24 hours £7.00. No app required. Useful if you’re combining a train journey with your visit, or want a low-cost all-day space (~12–15 min walk to the clinic).

By bike: Donkey Bikes — Worthing’s hire bike scheme — has docking stations around the town centre. Secure cycle storage is available at the High Street MSCP and Civic Quarter MSCP, and at Worthing Station.

Single Yellow Lines and Loading Bays: What the Rules Say

The single yellow lines near the clinic catch out more visitors than anything else, so here’s what the rules say in plain English. In Worthing, the hours for every yellow line and parking bay are set by West Sussex County Council’s Traffic Regulation Orders, and Civil Enforcement Officers patrol them on the councils’ behalf. The national rules for reading the signs are in the Highway Code.

The short version: an appointment doesn’t count as loading. If you arrive while a yellow line’s restriction is in force, park in the Ann Street bays or the High Street multi-storey instead; both are a few minutes’ walk away.

Single yellow lines

  • A single yellow line means no waiting during the times on the small plate on a nearby post. Outside those times you can park on it, unless something else, such as yellow marks on the kerb, says otherwise.
  • No plate? Inside a controlled parking zone, the times can be shown on the zone sign you passed on the way in instead.
  • Times but no days on the plate means the restriction applies every day, including Sundays and bank holidays.
  • Double yellow lines mean no waiting at any time, even where there’s no sign.
  • The rules cover the pavement and verge too, so pulling half onto the pavement beside a yellow line doesn’t get round them. Neither does staying in the car.

Near the clinic: before you leave your car on a single yellow line around Warwick Lane, find the nearest time plate and read it. If its hours are in force, use the Ann Street bays a minute away instead.

Loading and unloading

On a yellow line with no kerb marks, you can stop to load or unload, and to let passengers get in or out. Loading means moving goods that are heavy, bulky or numerous between the vehicle and a building: not shopping, running an errand or attending an appointment. If an enforcement officer sees no loading taking place, you can be given a ticket.

Yellow marks on the kerb (loading bans)

MarkingWhat it means
One short yellow mark on the kerbNo loading or unloading during the times on the nearby plate
Two short yellow marks on the kerbNo loading or unloading at any time

Where loading is banned, you can’t stop to load goods, and Blue Badge holders can’t park there either. A driver can still stop briefly to let a passenger in or out.

Loading bays

A bay marked ‘Loading only’, with a sign showing a trolley symbol, is for loading and unloading during the times on the sign; if no times are shown, it applies at all times. Some are for goods vehicles only, and the sign will say so. You can’t park in one if you’re not loading, and a Blue Badge doesn’t change that.

Blue Badge holders

In West Sussex you can park on single or double yellow lines for up to 3 hours, as long as you don’t cause danger or an obstruction and there are no yellow marks on the kerb. Display your badge, and set the blue parking clock to your arrival time. Blue Badges don’t cover loading bays.

What a parking ticket costs

Parking on a yellow line during its hours, in a loading bay without loading, or where loading is banned are all higher-level contraventions in West Sussex: £70, reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days, and rising to £105 if it isn’t paid. The county’s 10-minute grace period only applies in marked parking bays, not on yellow lines or where loading is banned. If you think a ticket was issued wrongly, you can challenge it in writing and then appeal to the independent Traffic Penalty Tribunal.

This is a plain-English summary, not legal advice: the signs and markings on the street are what apply on the day. Sources: The Highway Code, rules 238 to 252 and its road markings section; West Sussex County Council’s Blue Badge and penalty charge pages, and its parking policy.

Tips to Avoid a Parking Fine

Worthing’s Civil Enforcement Officers (employed by NSL Services) do patrol the town centre actively during business hours. A few things to watch for:

  • Double yellow lines mean no waiting at any time. The only exceptions are stopping briefly to load goods or let passengers in or out, and Blue Badge holders (up to 3 hours where there’s no loading ban).
  • Kerb marks and loading bays: yellow marks on the kerb mean no loading at the times shown, and a bay marked ‘Loading only’ is for moving goods during its hours. An appointment isn’t loading, so don’t leave your car in either.
  • Permit bays: some white-lined bays are for permit holders only: 9am–6pm Monday to Saturday in the town centre zones (A to C), and 10–11am and 2–3pm in the outer residential zones (D to N). Look carefully at the sign on the bay before you park.
  • MSCPs: under the new pay-on-arrival system, you must pay when you arrive — not when you leave. Don’t park first and go looking for a machine later; pay immediately on entering. You don’t need to display a ticket, but the payment is registered to your number plate.
  • MiPermit app: download it before you come. It lets you pay and extend your stay from your phone, which removes the main cause of accidentally overstaying.

Worthing Parking Zones (Simple Guide)

Zone A (town centre): Pay‑and‑display £2.20 an hour, Monday to Saturday 9am–6pm. Free after 6pm and on Sundays.

Zones B and C (outer town centre): Permit and pay‑and‑display bays, £2.10 an hour, Monday to Saturday 9am–6pm.

Zones D to N (residential areas further out): Permit bays are restricted Monday to Saturday, 10–11am and 2–3pm only; anyone can park in them outside those hours.

Yellow lines follow their own time plates in every zone — see single yellow lines and loading bays.

✨ How to Use the MiPermit App

MiPermit is the easiest way to pay for parking in Worthing’s council‑run car parks — and it means you never have to rush back to the machine if your appointment runs over. Here’s how to use it:

1. Download the FREE app before you set off Search “MiPermit” in the App Store or Google Play.
2. Create an account and add your vehicle You’ll only need your number plate. This takes less than a minute.
3. Park your car and open the app MiPermit automatically detects the nearest car park, or you can enter the location code shown on the signage: 702227 = High Street MSCP, 702228 = Buckingham Road MSCP
4. Choose how long you want to stay You’ll see the exact tariff for that car park. Select your duration and confirm payment.
5. Extend your stay from your phone If your appointment runs longer than planned, simply open the app and add more time — no need to return to the car park.
6. No ticket required Your parking session is linked to your number plate, so there’s nothing to display on your dashboard.

Tip: If you’re new to the app, set it up at home first — it’s quicker and avoids faffing around in the car park.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is on-street parking near the clinic ever free? Yes. The Ann Street pay-and-display bays, like the rest of the town centre zones, are free after 6pm Monday to Saturday and all day on Sunday. During our daytime opening hours they cost £2.20 an hour. Check the sign on the bay for its maximum stay.

Can I park on the single yellow line near the clinic? Only outside the hours on the nearest time plate, and only where there are no yellow marks on the kerb. During restricted hours, no: an appointment doesn’t count as loading, and there’s no grace period on yellow lines. Blue Badge holders can stay up to 3 hours where there’s no loading ban. Read the full rules.

Can someone drop me off nearby? Yes. A driver can stop briefly on a yellow line to let you out, where it’s safe to do so, but can’t wait there while you’re with us.

Is there EV charging near Blue Bird Aesthetics? Yes. The Civic Quarter MSCP (BN11 1HS, ~10 min walk) has 34 EV bays — the best option. High Street MSCP (BN11 1LY, ~5 min walk) has 2. EV charging is charged separately on top of parking. There are also some on-street EV bays in the town centre — see the full map at adur-worthing.gov.uk/parking/electric-charging-points/

Is there disabled parking close by? Yes. Buckingham Road MSCP has the most dedicated spaces (15 disabled bays, 2 dementia-friendly, 7 parent-and-child). Please note the High Street MSCP lift is currently restricted — Blue Badge holders needing step-free access should use Buckingham Road or Civic Quarter instead for now.

What is the MiPermit app? It’s the free parking app for all Adur & Worthing Council car parks. Download it before your visit and register your car. You can pay for your stay and extend it remotely if your appointment runs over — genuinely useful, and it means you never have to dash back to the car park mid-appointment. Search ‘MiPermit’ in the App Store or Google Play.

Can I park all day? Yes. The cheapest all-day option is the new South Farm Road car park by the station (£4.50 for up to nine hours, ~12–15 min walk), then Teville Gate (£7.40, 8am–6pm, ~10 min walk). The town-centre MSCPs (High Street, Buckingham Road, Civic Quarter) are £13.40 all day Monday to Saturday, or £6.20 on Sundays. On Monday to Wednesday afternoons, High Street and Buckingham Road also offer a flat £3.00 from 3pm.

What if I’m running late and my parking is about to expire? If you paid on the MiPermit app, you can extend your session from your phone without going back to the car park. If you paid at the machine in an MSCP, you can return to the machine and add more time, or switch to the MiPermit app to create a new parking session.

Is there parking near Worthing Station? Yes — a brand new 24-hour car park opened in July 2026 on South Farm Road, right next to Worthing station on the north side of the level crossing. From £1.20 an hour, £4.50 for up to nine hours or £7.00 for 24 hours. Pay at the machine or online via ParkPayStay. The car park is about 12–15 minutes’ walk from the clinic, or there’s a short bus connection via the 5, 10 or 700 routes.
